Chairman Profile A true soldier, a visionary, a great leader and a Gandhian, Colonel [Retd] Narne Ranga Rao was born in the well-known family of Narnes of Andhra Pradesh in 1943. His grandfather was honored with the title of “Rao Bahadur” and his father served in the Indian Army during World War II. In due course of time he completed his graduation in engineering and joined the Indian Army in 1964 in the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He was fortunate to have firsthand war experience in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

Having experienced the traumas and horrors of active combat, he views life from a special perspective, based on extra special relationships that develop between comrades-in-arms during war. He had 23 years of rich and varied experience, including combat experience, in the Corps of EME of the Indian Army before premature retirement in 1987. A thorough professional, he was recommended for the award of “VIR CHAKRA” for showing exemplary courage during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. He witnessed the selfless devotion to duty of his fellow servicemen, who made the supreme sacrifice to safeguard the motherland. He made his immediate resolve, right on the battlefield, to do everything possible towards rehabilitation and welfare of his brothers-in-arms and their dependents.
It was this experience and resolve, which prompted him to float “Gunrock Enclave Co-operative Housing Society” in 1977 while he was posted at MCEME Secunderabad, to provide house plots to the defence personnel. The 36 acres of land was distributed among 228 defence personnel at Rs. 53/- per square yard, inclusive of all development works, i.e., water, electricity, sewerage, avenue plantation etc., with adequate open spaces for gardens, recreation facilities, etc. The cost of this land today is a whopping Rs. 42,000/- per square yard !!! more than 800 times in approximately 30 years.
The news of the success of this venture travelled fast in the defence circles and colleagues requested him to take up the job of providing house plots to more defence personnel, who had no time of their own to search and purchase house plots during their short leave periods. Colonel [Retd] Narne Ranga Rao finally bowed to the wishes of his colleagues and took premature retirement from the army to devote himself fully for the welfare of defence personnel by providing them house plots.

You will be glad to note that Hyderabad has recorded all round progress in all spheres and has been recognized as the most progressive city the world over.
In order to ease the pressure on the main city, the Government has improved the commutation facility by introducing a metro rail system. The first phase has been completed and the second phase is in progress. The second phase will cover Bibinagar also, wherein our project East City is located. Andhra Pradesh has established world class games stadia all around Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The 32nd National Games were conducted in December 2002 and the Afro-Asian Games from 24th October to 1st November 2003. Participants for these games from across the globe were all praise for the facilities as well as hospitality extended to them. Hyderabad will also be hosting the World Military Games in 2007 and may also host the next Commonwealth Games in 2010.
In the field of Information Technology, Hyderabad has captured a sizeable market. Industrial giants from abroad have established their units at Hyderabad. Thus, the Hi-Tec city has been created and is growing rapidly. All these improvements have created a fair amount of job opportunities and the influx of people to Hyderabad has been steadily increasing. This has created a demand for more residential accommodation. This demand has made Narne Estates, the leading real estate developer, to venture into the construction arena. We have undertaken the first housing venture at Medchal, a suburb of Hyderabad.
This project will provide flats, independent houses and commercial complexes. The infrastructure will be world class at affordable prices. This project called Golden Heights Residency is abutting National Highway 7 with good commutation facilities, both rail and road, whereby one may reach the heart of the city in 25 minutes.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with few Singapore firms have commenced construction of 2000 flats on the Warangal Highway short of Bibinagar. The construction has already commenced and all the flats have been booked by the intending purchasers. Thus, there is more activity on the Warangal highway. The members of East City will be happy to note that with the establishment of the multi modal rail system, Singapore Township coming up, Bharat Petroleum establishing their bulk petrol depot, the demand for land on this route is increasing and thus East City will certainly become the Chandigarh of the South in the near future.
With this all round development taking place in and around Hyderabad, and the increasing demand for land for residential purposes, there is an immense potential of increased returns on investment in lands. It is time for investment at Hyderabad in real estate properties and to earn manifold returns in a short time.
