The A.P State Government has allotted 150 acres of land, in an area abutting East City, to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences-level world class Medical Research and Referral University.
The ‘Special Purpose Vehicle’ initiative proposes to extend the reach of the Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS), which would further improve East City’s accessibility.
The road to Warangal has been upgraded to National Highway (NH) status. This four lane highway designated as NH 202 provides easy accessibility from East City to the Vijayawada-Vishakapatnam axis and consequently further up the Eastern seaboard.
A 100-acre IT Special Economic Zone is coming up in the vicinity, which would accommodate over 100,100 professionals

The State Government has decided to replace the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which will dramatically expand the city limits by an additional 4,655 sq.kms., straddling 54 mandals in 5 districts including areas 10 km beyond East City.
The Government has already sanctioned a project for supplying drinking water from the Krishna River to East City, Bibinagar and surrounding areas through the existing Madhava Reddy Canal.
